The final step in completing setup of your new LeadPress website is configuring your domain name to work with your LeadPress site. You will not be able to view your new LeadPress site until this step is complete.

The information below may seem technical, but you can simply call your registrar (example: Godaddy) and relay these instructions to them and can implement the correct settings in a matter of minutes.

There are two different ways to configure your domain name. How you configure yours is dependent on whether you want to host your email accounts for your domain name with LeadPress or with a 3rd party provider that you may already be using.

Option 1: I Want to Host My Email Accounts With LeadPress

Your LeadPress account comes with the ability to host your email accounts such as yourname@yourdomain.com. If you already are or would like to continue using a 3rd party email host, please follow the instructions in Option 2 below.

To prevent email and website downtime and loss of email:

1) Follow these steps in their exact order.
2) Only complete these steps once you have received an email confirming that your website has been built.

Step 1: Create Email Accounts Using Cpanel

  1. Login to Cpanel using the login credentials sent to you in your initial sign up email. These are not the same as your support login or website dashboard login that will be mailed to you when your website has been built.
  2. Click on the “Email” link in the “Mail” Section of Cpanel
  3. Add your email address and password in the given space and click “create account”.
  4. If you ever need to add accounts, delete accounts or change email account passwords, the Cpanel Email section is where you can do these tasks.

Step 2: Take Your LeadPress Live:

Call your domain name registrar (example: Godaddy) and ask them to edit the existing “nameservers” so that they point to “ns1.leadpress.com” and “ns2.leadpress.com” (without quotes).

Step 3: What Happens Once I Updated My Domain’s Nameservers to Point to LeadPress?

Once this step is complete, you will likely need to wait 12 to 48 before you can view your new LeadPress website. This is normal and expected behavior! This process is called propagation and is the result of different Internet Service Provicers (ISP’s) udpating with your new settings at their own time intervals, unfortunately, we can’t force them to update right away.

Once you can see your site is up: Set up your new email accounts in Outlook or other email clients.

Option 2: I Want to Host My Email Accounts With A 3rd Party Email Provider

These instructions will help you set up your new LeadPress site and while maintaining your email with any 3rd party provider you are already using. If you want to use LeadPress to host your email accounts, please follow the instructions in Option 1 above.

To prevent website downtime, do not complete this step until you have received an email confirming that your LeadPress site has been built!

To Take Your LeadPress Live:

Call your domain name registrar (example: Godaddy) and ask them to edit the existing “A Record” so that it is pointing to the IP address of “96.30.5.83” (without quotes).
